It's quite nice to come home to roomate's dog, who is a cheerful Jack Russell terrier. Although he is wet with Katrina of late and stinks accordingly.

A good soul has reminded me how welcome and appreciated my public prayers are, so I'll include another one here:

Thought we'd be paid on the 30th but I guess not.

I've just got a lot of anger and nowhere to put it. I've got so, so much to do and nobody will help me with it. Nobody will help me break the truth to my family and friends and tell them I won't be able to see them again for years. I've put this off for too long because of my sister's wedding. She certainly won't be at mine, so why am I going to hers?

They are trying to make an Open Plan office, in which the fundraisers will live, along with membership managment and... me, the box office and web designer. (One of these things is not like the other..)

It's fun writing a book, I get to fart around and be a busybody. Who else should I interview when I am in DCistan next month? Anybody care to meet me and have Alcoholic Beverages and Tasty Food in the evening hours, perhaps at DuPont Circle?

I've decided that I need a 20gb iPod photo, so I've signed up for the free iPod thing at freeipods.com. I already have a 4GB mini, but that's not gonna do everything I want it to do, and if I get the 20gb iPod photo I will put Linux on the mini and just geek the fuck out. BIG NERD, THAT'S ME! :)

Interestingly, the iPod referral system has something I actually want - an Audible.com trial of two months for $21.95. After which point, I will cancel.

I get two free audiobooks, but they seem to have a dearth of the decent UKistani Science Fiction that is currently capturing my interest, though. I suppose I will get The World Is Flat by Friedman, since the book I'm writing after the book I'm writing now is sort of a Marxist version of that. Any other audiobook selections would be recommended.
