A Diary.

Further Book Interviews So-Far Scheduled: Dennis Kucinich, Harvey Pekar, Matt Wuerker, Joe Sacco. Plus some non-famous people. I need some women and some people of color.

Studs Terkel, too.

It's fun writing a book, I get to fart around and be a busybody. Who else should I interview when I am in DCistan next month? Anybody care to meet me and have Alcoholic Beverages and Tasty Food in the evening hours, perhaps at DuPont Circle?

That Tony Blair law is a crock of fucking shit. What, exactly, is preaching hatred? This shall be worked out in the Courts, I hope.

I walked around last night for a while. Went and saw the Harlem Gospel Choir - very good, didn't manage to remove the anal sticks from the audience members though.

Friday night - Went to NASA picnic - met guy who did forensic investigation of Columbia explosion - had food with Next Governor of Ohio Congressman Strickland - saw Kucinich again. Prefer the Politics of Kucinich, would rather have a beer with Strickland. Met local AFL-CIO chief, had interesting Split-themed discussion, he noted that the split isn't as gaping as it looks Nationally - in many districts the Change to Win peeps work fine with their AFL-CIO brethren, and many AFL-CIOistanis do Less Lobbying and More Organizing than is done at the national level.

Assistant of Strickland played with his Blackberry - 'tis new, tho, so he is allowed.

I now have two Ipodii, one 4gig and one 20gig with an iTrip. Much soul and jazz has been and continues to be blared.

Neighbor had a Big Gay Hissy Fit when his house had an attempted robbery in it and I watched his house Sat. eve, so he could attend a pool party. This may have influenced my awakening at 3am this morning to a misset alarm clock downstairs, worrying it was the Security Alarm, and stumbling half-naked downstairs threatening to call the cops. I am tired.

I don't really have a comment to make by Rogerborg (4.00 / 1) #1 Mon Aug 08, 2005 at 10:59:58 AM EST
But I'm doing pretty well getting first posts today, so feel that I should make an effort.  Hmm.  Hey, how come you can hang out with rich folks and still be impoverished?  You should take up teaching economics and watch the big bucks just roll in.

You're practically a baby still. Why, when you get to be as old as me, you'll see what I mean when I say what I am talking about when things are different between the times of then and now as well as other things.

Whatever happened with the possibility of interviewing Hugo Chavez? The more I read about some of the stuff he has done to the detriment of big business and to the benefit of his people, I see some good things about him. I mean, I don't like his censorship and some of the bad things he has done with his opposition, but overall he seems like a mostly decent guy with some good ideas for helping out his country.

Since they have one common love that would bind them; hating the Jews. By which, of course, I mean "the Zionists".

I have seen a couple of French Jewish / Skinheads websites (I kid you not), where they claim to be united against the 'Arabs overtaking their country' (splash image: Chirac shaking hand with some Saudi or other).

It's also true by MohammedNiyalSayeed (2.00 / 0) #24 Mon Aug 08, 2005 at 12:02:26 PM EST

There are connections between neo-Nazis in the US and Islamist groups. Which, really, isn't that surprising, considering both share the similar hatred.

...I hear Orion is a magazine for Italian fascists who've become Shi'tes (!) Apparently over there there's a whole scene of fascist squatters into wacky religions.

Nothing surprsises me anymore, not since I've seen a picture of Malcom X sitting with representatives of the American Nazi party

instead of jailing him, they should force-tan him under a UV light, grow his bear until it is a foot long, hypnotize him so that he's convinced he doesn't look any different, then send him down a BNP pub in Bermondsey.

Where would you deport them to? by theboz (2.00 / 0) #17 Mon Aug 08, 2005 at 11:40:27 AM EST
I'd say either Germany (since neo-nazism is illegal there), or Israel (to see how long they would last.)
